Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, on Tuesday led a high deputation of elders and stakeholders from Borno and Yobe States to a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The deputation had Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, former governors of Borno State, Ashiek Jarma and Senator Kashim Shettima, Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin Elkanemi, and Emir of Fika, Alhaji Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa.
The high level meeting, it was learnt, focused on sustaining recent gains made by the military in the fight against Boko Haram in the northeast.
The interaction also discussed resettlement of the internally displaced persons to communities and villages that are safe, rehabilitation and reconstruction of major Federal roads in Borno and Yobe states, among others.
Zulum, while responding to news men after the meeting, said the President had assured of sustained military offensive in the ongoing operations in Borno and other parts of the northeast.
Recall, Zulum said that the internally display persons will resettled in their various community/villages in March, with no doubts he has engaged himself to it already.
Recently, troops neutralized two commanders and 81 boko haram members in Pulka and Banki axis, Borno state.
