Taraba Sate Governor in Borno over Zabarmari killings

The North East Governors Forum led by Darius Dickson Ishaku are in to pay a condolence visits over the massacre of farmers by terrorists in Zabarmari ward in .
The death toll which is still on the rise is confirmed by NEWS MEN to be 92 as at Tuesday, December 1.
‘As the leader of this delegation of the North-East zone, we have decided to visit you to condole you over the killing of the 43 farmers,’ Gov. Darius said.
While extending his sympathy, the leader of the deligation emphasized that they ‘…feel very sad for the people of Borno state.’
Furthermore, he called on the federal government to invite some mercenaries to come and help in the fight against insurgency.
‘We can’t keep mourning on and on…we plead to the federal government to find a finality to the Boko Haram war,’ noting that the situation is already worse.
He also called on the federal government to ‘look in the North East with sympathy. It is embarrassing that the whole budget, what is given to the North East is giving only 0.43%.
‘With all this problems we are having with insurgency; with insecurity, from the core budget of , 0.43% is only given to the North East? I think this is very very unfair,’ he lamented.
He also called on the to look at the issue of infrastructural development in the region seeking for allocation of funds to the Mambila power project.
A similar condolence visit was made by a United Nations delegation led by Mr Edward Kallon, the UN Nigerian resident coordinator.
The UN sympathised with the governor and people of Borno while condemning the unfortunate massacre.
Responding, Prof Babagana Umara thanked the delegation for the condolence visit. ‘We feel so honoured for this very important visit.
‘Since I assume duty as the governor of Borno state, the North East governors have been in Borno state for several times with a view to sympathising with us over the recent happenings. This shows the level of cordiality between the North East governors forum.’
Zulum equally called on the federal government to provide sustainable infrastructure that will aid in curbing the insurgency and promoting development in the region.
The delegation also made a similar visit to the Shehu of Borno, Alh. Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-amin Elkanami.
