Taraba forbids motorcycle in few areas

of Taraba state has banned the use of motorcycle in some local government areas of the state.
The areas affected are Chanchanji, Kofai Ahmadu, Kunkunu, Dogon-gawa, Tor-Tsee, Gbaondo, in Takum local government area of the state.
Other are Rafin-Kara, Tor-Iorsha, Tor-Musa, Chonku, Chiefdom, Assa Chiefdom, Va’ase, Gbeji, Ikyaor, Jenikura, Kente, Sondi, under Wukari local government area, with Tor-Damisa, another area in Donga local government area of the state
Darius Dickson Ishaku, the governor of the state, who disclosed this, also directed the security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, to enforce the order.
He told the security operatives to arrest and prosecute whosoever violate the order, a release by the governor’s press secretary, Iliya Bekyu Akweh, during weekend, said.
However, the governor did not give reason for the banning, but this paper understands that the reason may not be unconnected with the Tiv/Jukun crisis in the state or the decade-old insurgency in the region.
The banning in state comes eight years after it was equally banned in state, the stronghold of Terrorist, following an alleged use of the motorcycle by the terrorist.
