Police Nab Robbery Suspect Terrorising Community in Ogun

The police in State have arrested an armed robbery suspect, Ibrahim Fatai, allegedly terrorising Obada Oko and its environs, in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.
Fatai popularly called Emir was apprehended on February 10, 2021, when he allegedly dispossessed one Tijani Sodiq of N120,000 and two bags of rice along Araromi Street.
The police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen that the victim of the robbery alerted the police.
According to him, upon receipt of the information, the DPO of Obada Oko, Bernard Ediogboyan, mobilised his patrol team and moved to the scene where the suspect was apprehended.
Oyeyemi said in the process of robbing Sodiq, Emir inflicted an injury on his (Sodiq’s) right wrist.
He further said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect who is a leading member of Eiye Confraternity was the one who led hoodlums who vandalised Obada Oko Divisional Headquarters on October 21, 2020, during the #EndSARS protest.
“The suspect has confessed to many cult-related fracas in Obada Oko and its environs.”
He added that the suspect would be transferred to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation, saying effort would be intensified to apprehend the remaining members of the gang.
