Nigerian Military rescues 200 farmers abducted by Boko Haram

No fewer than 200 rice farmers who escaped the Saturday’s Massacre in Jere Local of were rescued by the Nigerian Military.
The rescued came following ’s directive to Nigerian Army to go after terrorists and flush them out from their hideouts.
Babagana Yarima, a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force who was recently inducted into the Nigerian Army, said that the victims were rescued at the early hours of Tuesday around the villages of Khadamari where they were held hostages by the insurgents.
Yarima said that a heavy gun battle ensued between the troops and the militants which lasted for morethan one hour, forcing the terrorist to to fled and abandoned the victims.
It will be recalled that about 43 rice farmers were slaughtered, many with their head cut off completely by Boko Haram insurgents at Zabarmari, on allegations that the farmers were working with the Military to attack them.
