The Kwara State police command has commenced training of 1,056 police constables, gazette.ng reports.
The State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq while commencing the training course commended President Muhammadu Buhari for playing an active role in the concept which he said would strengthen internal security architecture.
“I commend President Muhammadu Buhari for approving a noble project like this as presented by the Inspector General of Police. This programme is not new all over the world but its implementation at this time is very significant,” he said at the flag-off in Ilorin, the state capital.
The police commissioner disclosed that the newly admitted constables will, undergo a one month training on security tasks, and get deployed to their various communities in the state.
