Kwara government pledges support for SMEs

The governor made the remarks today while receiving the director-general of standard organization of Nigeria, Alhaji farouk Salim.

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Kayode Alabi stated that manufacturers should receive more support to make international standard products, thereby boosting exports and creating jobs.

Governor Abdulrazaq added that the present administration will encourage small and medium scale enterprises in the state and as well partner the organization to uphold standards.

In his own remark, the Director-Director-General, Standard Organization of Nigeria, Alhaji Farouq Salim explained that he was in the state to launch the organization’s new multi-million naira office complex and inspect some manufacturing companies in the state.

Salim said the SON would sign a memorandum of understanding with the state government to educate small scale industries on standard products.

He however appealed to the state government to provide supportive infrastructure to manufacturers and other businesses in the state.
