JUST IN: Army kills three Boko Haram Near Maiduguri

The Nigerian army on Tuesday killed at least three militants while repelling an attack launched by the terror group at Tunkushe village in northeast region of state.
The insurgents who appeared in military uniforms with two Hilux vans mounted with Anti Air Craft guns, targeted a civilian population, in Tunkushe, located about 20 kilometers North of Borno capital.
A competent Military sources said that the attackers suspected to be from the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP),
The attack was repelled by the troops of 212 Battalion of the of the the Boko Haram militants targeted a civilian population, who engaged the terrorist in a heavy gunfight that lasted from about 30 minutes.
The sources disclosed that three insurgents were killed while two soldiers were wounded during the wounded in the gunfight.
Items recovered from the insurgents include; one gun truck mounted with Anti Air Craft gun, AK 47 riffle, buffen radio and various types of other ammunition. Several traces of blood were also seen along the route where the remaining insurgents escaped in dissarey.
The source added that the troops had lunched a hot pursuit to apprehend the fleing terrorist.
