FRSC records 15 deaths, 684 road violators in Borno

Road Safety Corps (FRSC), said on Thursday said it has recorded 15 deaths and many injuries in December.
Sector Commander Sanusi Kiri, disclosed this in an interview with Daily Times in .
Sanusi said that the deaths in the state was as a result of the insurgency and over speeding along Jakana and Auno village the main penetration zone of .
He also said that about the 15 people were killed in a terrible accident on 15 December, 2020, according to him the accident was as a result of over speeding and over load of goods.
He further said that the drivers were not observing the coronavirus protocol, noting that if they were observing the protocol the accident would have reduced in the state.
The sector commander also said that it has recorded less RTC and higher fatality since December, 2020.
He revealed that the state had recorded many road traffic crashes within the same period, adding that of the figure collated, 15 were fatal, 11 serious and 5 minor crashes.
“The sector command recorded 15 deaths, with many people
sustaining various degrees of injury, according to him has recorded 252 traffic violators while other Local Areas recorded 432 which turn in total of 684 road violators in December.
“A total of 684 persons were involved in road violations in December and this is higher when compared with the November road violation statistics” he said.
Sanusi noted that the behaviour of road users was an important determinant of a country’s road safety performance.
He urged motorists to be careful, tolerant and imbibe defensive driving culture arecords.
