FG complete 4,982 houses in Banki to repatriate 9,800 IDPs from Cameroon

A ’s Technical Working Group (TWG) on Wednesday inspected 4,982 newly constructed houses meant for Internally Displaced Persons(IDPs) in Banki Local Government Area of state.
While inspecting the Project, Sen. Basheer Muhammed Lado, The Feederal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (RMIDP), said the visit was in preparation to repatriate Nigerian refugees from Cameroon to Banki and Bama LGA.
Represented by the Director Refugee and Migrant, Mr Titai Egibunu, he said that the 4,982 Nigerians constitute the first cluster of citizens who have shown voluntarily to be evacuated to resettlement houses built by Borno Government.
Accompanied by the Director General of the State Emergency Management Agency(SEMA), official of NEMA, Mr Titai said that the committee were on a fact-finding mission ahead of the repatriation of refugees in Cameroon where 9,800 Nigerian are taking refuge.
He noted that the IDPs would be repatriated from Minawao camp between Feb 27 to March 7, 2021.
The DG of State Emergency Management Agency, Bawa Kolo has led the technical working group (TWG) in inspecting the new houses, schools and hospital in Banki and Bama.
