The authority and governing council of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti (EKSU) on Saturday has announced an indefinite closure of the University and suspension of all academic activities.
According to a press release by the Head, Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs of the University,bMr Bode Olofinmuagun, “This is as a result of the continuous disruption of lawful activities on campus which have endangered lives and property in the last one week.
Consequently to guarantee peace and orderliness on campus, all the four unions (ASUU,SSANU,NAAT,NASU) are hereby roscribed with immediate effect.
All students are advised to vacate the campus forthwith”
It will be recalled that there have been continuous protests by the staff unions of the University the past one week over their unpaid salaries and other allowances and entitlements.
