Bishop appeals to Borno Govt to rehabilitate 32 Churches destroyed by Boko Haram

Reverend Emmanuel Morris, The Bishop of the Anglican Communion Diocese, has appeal to government to rebuild back 32 Churches destroyed by insurgents across the state at the peak of the insurgency.
Emmanuel who spoke to Daily Times on Thursday said that the Christian society in the state were some the worst hit by the insurgents.
The Bishop said that out of the destroyed Churches, only two were rebuilt by the diocese.
He urge the government to add worship Center in it rehabilitation and reconstruction exercise to enable pastors return local government areas that recorded relative peace, to continue preaching the word of God.
“I am quite were that not only individuals houses, but churches were also build and rebuilt; so also mosque that were destroyed during the peak of the crises.
“So it is a good thing to hel the people recover their lives and that is what democracy is all about
It will be recalled that the Boko Haram insurgents had claimed about 30,000 lives and displaced over 7 million people in the Northeast within the past ten Years.
According to an estimation, the insurgents had also destroyed destroyed properties worth 3billion USD in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states.
