Bauchi state government has procured One billion naira loan to the Bauchi state fertilizer blending company to increase production.
The state governor senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed disclosed when he inspected the ongoing upgrade and expansion of the plant in the state capital.
The governor had also settled about seven hundred million Naira debts the company uncured by the previous administration.
According to the governor, most of the citizens of the state are farmers hence the need to produce enough fertilizer for farming activities.
He assured that fertilizer will be made available at affordable rates to farmers in an effort to increase yield.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of the company, Alhaji Bappa Aliyu Misau said before the government intervention, the plant can only produce 300 metric tonnes.
According to him, the plant can now produce 30.0000 metric tonnes in this farming season as upgrade and installation is ongoing and would be completed next month.
