Asup Strike: Fedpoffa Student Union charges govt, stakeholders to settle lingering issues.

In the meantime, The FEDPOFFA Students Union Vice president (Academics) Comr. Omoniyi Jamiu popularly known as General Jamo has called on government and concerned stakeholders to find a lasting solutions to the lingering issues in the interest of students greatly affected by the industrial action.

The Student Union boss made this known while chatting with our correspondent on the ongoing nationwide strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics ASUP last week Tuesday after the ultimatum it gave the and state governments.

He said, “All we can do is to appeal to government and necessary stakeholders to jawjaw in the interest of all Nigerian Students who are hitherto stranded by the strike”.

General Jamo stated that departmental and faculty Students Union executives of the institution have organised tutorial classes for students to continue their academics.

He said the Students Union Government is working assiduously towards organizing SUG tutorial in synergy with the lower governments.

According to him, “tutorial is holding, conducted by departmental and faculty excos. We are currently working on SUG tutorial, in synergy with lower governments.” He said.

You will recall that the ASUP national president Mr. Anderson Ezeibe has earlier hinted that the strike is possible to be called off soon as the Federal government had constituted governing councils for Federal government owned polytechnic which they agitated for.

However, the ASUP strike continues pending the outcome of today (Wednesday) and Thursday’s meeting with the ASUP team and the Federal government.
