About 200 people have been confirmed to be infected with cholera in less than 24 hours in Bauchi state.
The executive Chairman, Primary Healthcare Development Agency Dr. Rilwanu Muhammad confirmed the Figure while speaking with the media in Bauchi.
Dr. Rilwanu Muhammad said twenty seven people have so far died from cholera related complications in the state.
He added that Bauchi state has recorded 733 cases in 14 Local Governments with Bauchi metropolis topping the infection log.
The Executive Chairman, also said that the state Primary Healthcare Development Agency in collaboration with Doctors without Borders has installed Tents across the state to isolate victims.
Dr. Muhammad called on Religious and traditional Rulers to sensitize the populace on the importance of personal hygiene as well as the dangers of open defecation.
Also Contributing in the program, Expert of infectious Disease, Dr. Ibrahim Mahmood Maigari is of the opinion that proper Enlightenment and quick response will no doubt curtain the outbreak.
He equally urged people to use purified water before usage and also wash vegetables and other perishables before consumption.
